In line with the FP post about the GTI, I've just noticed that the configurator is now online.

As you might tell, I'm rather excited to get one.

Oh wow, you only get 4 colors in Canada?

At least they're not all "beige."

Cool! Unfortunately the US site wasn't updated when I checked, so this makes for a good preview.

So... no Performance Pack yet?

Ok, not to hate but I just built one to a pretty basic spec (3 door, 6 speed, sport package because those other wheels are fugly) and it stickered at $35,578.05?! For 211 HP ? I mean, I'm sure it's a solid car and the interior is nice but...people actually spend that kind of money on these cars?

Ah ok...thank you.

AND it dropped in price by ~$1300 base!

Canada generally has higher prices anyways, which sucks.

Doesn't seem like it yet. I've read on other forums that other countries are delayed too.

Yeah Canadian $$$ and Canadian taxes. Check out there freight and PDI, $1350 as opposed to USA destination charge of $820 or $895. On a $30k car, sales tax would not be $4400........

After taxes and fees.
